Le doux parfum du vide
Would you like to feast on human flesh? This theatrical production revolves around a restaurant, "Le Pleonasme" that serves, yes you heard it right, human flesh. I had to see this play for my "Journalisme culturel" class. We had a choice between 2. This wasn't my first choice, but notheless the one I saw. When I heard the synopsis, I thought it was interesting, but very weird. My opinion changed when I got there. The theater was really cozy. You feel as if you are IN the play. I was served a glass of water by the same man who sold the tickets, and who happens to be the theater director. It was my first visit, and I'm definitely going back.
Now on to the play. Amazing. Weird, I have to admit, but very well done. The actors were really good and funny, and the play was very well produced. Under this bizarre story lies a deep meaning. I won't state it obviously, by fear of being sensored by firewalls... but it deals with what starts with an "s", ends with and "x" and has an "e" in the middle. How people use it to feel alive, even though they don't. How it becomes meaningless. How it can be seperate from love. That's the message that's being told underneath a story of, lets face it, canibalism. But it's very well done... don't think Annibal Lector people. Not at all like that. It shows the detachment between the act, and love, and the body. My Week... ... was hectic. Very busy. Crazy. But it wasn't horrible. The work I was doing was interesting (and very close to fun). My favourite part was interviewing an art director in a cultural center (who also happens to be a comedian). To copy down the entire interview afterwards (3hrs) and choose, amongst the 9 pages, which 1 1/2 I should include in my paper was the not-so-good part. Everything took around 8 hours overall. I know, that's a lot. But things have cooled down, for a couple of days at least. I'll be able to have a weekend this time! Thanks Jac and Kass for the comments. And Kass, check the comments in the previous post, I answered to your issue with pop-ups.

Oh cool, I have been thinking of going to see conerts and plays at the conservatorium since my mother began some work there and I hear all about the upcoming shows... they sound fun. I have never done things like that before so it will be a new thing to me. I hope I like it.

My week was also busy, I had worked every weekday this week almost full time hrs so I got this weekend off as well, it feels good to have two days of doing nothing or anything I want. I am spending it working in dreamweaver on a layout for my photography site. It is going to take a while to do. jac xxx << Home Archives:
