My Girl Marathon
I'm currently in the middle of a My Girl Marathon. They are showing both movies on the Movie Network. I love those movies. They make me feel so good afterwards. I just finished watching the first one. I laugh, cry... the whole package. The next one should be starting in a couple of minutes.
I hope everyone had a nice Christmas. My Noël was good. I had a lot of great family moments. They should continue during this coming week. My parents, my sister and I all have time off from work/university. I also enjoyed seeing my relatives. However, I feel that these big gatherings are coming to an end. We're getting older, the adults are getting older, and things just aren't the same anymore. I guess this whole "shift" has to happen eventually. I have so many things I want to do this week. Small things, you know. Like reading certain books, watching certain movies, spending time with my family and friends, do some work on my website, etc. I also have to study for a french exam I have coming up in January. It's part of the admission process for the Faculty of Education (which I want to attend next year). I hope I manage to get some of these things done before classes start again on Jan.4. So I'm wishing everyone a happy holiday season, joyeuses fêtes. I'm currently eating a piece of Terry's Chocolate Orange. Those things are so good. Thanks to Jazzy, Kass and Rachel for the comments. I'm going back to my movies.
C'est l'hiver, c'est l'hiver, c'est l'hiver.
Here is a new layout, inspired by Harry Potter & the Prizoner of Azkaban, to celebrate this cold season. It's the first time I use my own screen captures in a layout. It's also (I think) my first blue-ish layout. I'm not a big fan of the colour, but it went really well with the photos. It's also more green-ish... so maybe that's why I like it. So I hope everyone likes it. It's a big change from the dark layout I had earlier.
I'm starting to understand Rachel (my host) who once wrote about this line that exists between the web and real life. We write blogs for the masses. To these people, we are nothing more than a name on the screen. But what happens when the line disapears, and individuals from our real life might be starting to read your entries? There's no way to know for sure who visits. That's what I'm wondering. Christmas is only a couple of days away. Time flies by fast (I also can't believe that it's dark out and that I'm still dressed the same was I was when I woke up). I spent 7 hours shopping with my sister and my mom on wednesday. Such an amount of time should only be spent in a mall when it is absolutely necessary. It was a long, exausting day. Fortunately, all my Christmas shopping is done. Thanks Jac and Kass for the comments. I answered to then in the previous comment window. Joyeux Noel tout le monde!
15 days
I wrote my last exam this morning. The fall semester is officially over. I'm sick, I'm caughing, I have a headache, I'm anxious, I'm nervous, I'm tired, I'm burnt out, I'm annoyed, I'm confused... I need a break. I have exactly 15 days to get back to my original self. :)
I thought you deserved an update
King Kong was a little too long. However, it's one of the most spectacular movies I've ever seen. The way they tell the story really pulls you in. The actress in the lead, Naomi Watts, is amazing. She's believable. You can truly see that she loves that, hum, giant beast? hihi. It was my first Adrian Brody film as well. All I can say is, wow. There's not much you can do once you look into those eyes. Oh, and the "date" went well too. (That's what you're probably wondering). I don't like to call it a "date" because, to me, it implies getting to know someone under false pretenses. I like to meet people in a more natural way. That being said, I took a chance last night, and it was great. I got to know a great guy. I hope he had a good time too. We said we would meet again in a week or so (after exam season), so that's a good indicator I guess. He's the one who brought it up (although I was thinking it too). That's about it I guess.
Thanks Kass for the comment, and you know what, I got better at working with children with time. Which is why I think every parent should have to take a class in parenting. lol. And thanks Jazzy. Good luck with that new guy.
A week has gone by...
With nothing very exciting to report. Classes ended last monday, and then I spent the week working on papers, projects and research reports. It sure is different from all the studying I usually have to do. I actually spent 92 hours inside my house without coming out. I didn't plan it, or force it. It just happenned. I came in monday night at 9pm and only left the house on friday night around 5pm. I should have stayed a little longer and reach 100hrs. lol.
Saturday morning was my last day at work before the holidays. For those who don't know, I teach cooking classes to children at the local french community centre. I've been teaching there for 3 years. I taught arts on previous years, but there was a lot of interest for the cooking class this year, they added more classes, and I teach them all. I organized a bake sale with my level 2 class, and we made a total of 76$. It's amazing, I didn't expect to make this much. I left work and went directly to my babysitting job. I looked after two really nice girls, 9 and 11, all weekend. To watch them isn't like working at all. We baked some cookies, watched movies, played games, played in the snow. Ok, I wouldn't do it every weekend, but it's a good way to make some extra money... and feel good about yourself too. The girls really enjoyed their weekend. I was glad to hear that. Now I have a busy week ahead. I have three projects/reports to hand in. I also have plans with a guy I only recently met, on friday. He's the brother of a friend. I don't usually make plans with people I barely know, so I'm a little anxious. But I expect for it to go well, so I won't think about it too much. Have a nice week everyone. Thanks Kass, Jazzy and Fran.
Tout semble me frustrer, me rendre nerveuse ou me faire peur. Joyeux! :)
Ça me frustre d'y penser. Bizarre. Ceci étant dit, je vais "switcher" à l'anglais pour accomoder mes visiteurs réguliers (sauf pour Kass, j'ignore si quelqu'un d'autre m'a compris). ![]() The Sorelli sisters in Related I've seen four episodes of the show and absolutely love it. The only down side is that I have a class (all year) that ends at 8:30... so I usually miss 10 minutes of the show. I like the dynamic between the sister: Ginnie, Anne, Marjee & Rose. From what I've seen so far, I relate mostly to Rose, although I have some Ginnie tendencies. I'm looking foward to the new episode next week. What I really want to know is the after math of the Joel/Rose kiss we saw in the last episode. I just love that kind of story: boy and girl are friends, boy and girl fall for each other. It's not always the case though, I learned it the hard way. Nevertheless, it's still fun to watch it unfold on TV. And lucky for me, classes are over (although I still have a ton of work) for the Holidays, so I'll be able to watch the episode from the beginning.
Girl on the Radio
My request made it to the local Kiss Fm station. I just heard myself on the air (45 minutes after my actual call). I requested "Vacation" by the Go-Gos, and dedicated it to all the University students who wish they were on vacation. The snow is making studying even more depressing. Lol! It just played... I love that song.
So anyways, I just thought I would share this piece of news. Other than my radio experience, I'm very busy with school work. I still have to write one essay, one play review (I'm seeing the play tonight), four newspaper articles and one huge report on a study I did in audience research. Then I have an exam on the 19th. But Monday is the last day of class, so hopefully I'll have more time to work on all of these things. I ran across a guy who went to school with me all through elementary, junior high and high school. I hadn't seen him in two years. I had a really good time talking to him on the 30 minute bus ride. And to be honest, he looked good. It's not always the case, some people have let themselves go after graduation. hihi. This meeting also brought back all of these memories from back when I was in school. Thanks Jac & Kass.Archives:
