Wind Of Change
I'm happy and wanted a layout that reflected that feeling. Not that the other one was sad... not at all actually. However, I got tired of seeing snow on my website, when I see so much of it, outside, every day. However, this year isn't a good example, because we are getting horrible weather in Ottawa. It was raining last week, and above 0 celcius. But the most magical thing happenned during the night and this morning: we got the most wonderful snow. Although it took me double the time to get to work, it's nice to see the trees all in white. And it sure beats those brown piles of snow/slush/ice that were decorating ourlawns these past weeks.
Here is my new layout. It has a spring feeling. Two of the photos are from the DVD How To Deal, an amazing little movie featuring Mandy Moore. I thought the image with the book would be appropriate, since I am reading tons of novels this semester. The image of the flower is so nice. I found it on Google images. Obviously, it belongs to some great artist, but I forgot to take note of his/her name. If it's you, by any chance, give me a sign. :) Finally, I added 16 little facts (because it's my lucky number) about myself. Click on them for more info on the girl behind the website (me!). Content-wise, all the sections were reorganized. Be sure to visit web, because I've added old layouts from this site, and from my other websites. :) Thanks to Jazzy, Kass and Nix for the comments. I always appreciate it.
Letters
I watched a movie called Dear Frankie tonight. It was simple, but excellent. It's a scottish film, so the accent was a little hard to understand at times. It's the story of a boy named Frankie, who writes to his father who is out at sea. However, his letters never reach him; his mother is the one who reads them and writes back. He doesn't know the truth about his abusive father. His mother keeps him from finding out, by hiring a man to play the role of Frankie's father. I truly recommend it. It's amazing.
My french exam went well. However, it's hard to truly know how you did on language exams. The evaluation process is very subjective if you think about it. We should get our results at the end of March. That's such a long wait. I'm happy. I met someone who (seems) to understand me. Who genuinely seems interested to get to know me. I can't believe it's only been a month. Thanks Kass and Jazzy for taking the time to write. Have a nice week everyone.

The title of my post reflects the time at the moment, and is inspired by the TV show "24", which I saw for the first time tonight. I watched the first 3 episodes. It's good. I watched them with the guy I met about a month ago. My friend's brother. Things are going well so far, we see each other twice a week. I try not to think in advance (for once in my life), so things are what they are at the moment. There's nothing more to say really.
My french exam is saturday. I'm a little nervous. I really want to do well. Right after my english literature class tomorrow, I'll start my strictly-french-24-hours. I won't listen to, watch, read anything in english. And most important of all, I'll only be speaking french. I don't think it will be hard. Except for my 3 classes, one friend, and this new guy I met (see above), I always speak french to the people I meet. But I'm taking the extra precaution. This also means I won't blog again until that test is over, because I have a lot of studying left to do. And on that note, have a nice weekend everyone. Thanks to Nix and Jazzy. January Update
The semester has just started two days ago and I'm already feeling stressed. It's not really my classes that worry me (even though I already have 11 novels to read this semester!). Recently, my thoughts are on a french exam I have to write in exactly one week. I have to completely pass this exam to be able to teach français in grades 7-10. It's not the end of the world if I don't pass it completely. Those who partialy pass the exam have to take a french class during their year at the Faculty of Education. However, they can not teach français. This is why I decided to take English literature classes. If I don't completely pass my french exam, I'll still be able to teach English in grades 7-10. Still, I really want to teach français, so I'll be putting a lot of effort into preparation for this exam (which I was supposed to do during the Christmas break).
What stresses me out is when I tell myself that I'll accomplish certain things, but end up not doing them all. I usually put too much on my plate. Other than my french exam, I've been thinking about a future plan, which remains a secret to all my entourage. It's been consuming a lot of my energy. Finally, I really want to finish Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix before I start reading (all 11 novels) for my classes. I know this shouldn't stress me, because I'm re-reading it for fun. However, I don't want to set it aside unfinished. I have about 100 pages left, I'll try and finish it today. Coincidence? After hearing "Friday I'm In Love" by The Cure on the radio this week, I started downloding a bunch of their songs. I love "Just Like Heaven"... and prefer their 80s stuff. What is bizarre is that last night, while eating dinner, I turned the TV on at MuchMoreMusic. What was playing you ask? A Biography of none other than The Cure. [Edit: I just found out that they have a song called "A Letter To Elise". Wow.] New: I decided to add a Favourite's List. Thanks to Jazzy, Kass and Rachel for all the kind words and wishes for the new year.
Bonne Année!
I wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year. I hope it brings you everything you deserve. Of course, this marks the end of the Holiday season. I hope everyone had a great one. I still have a couple of days off before the new semester starts. I'll try and make the most of them.
I don't have much to write about. Blogs aren't always the best place to start intense conversations. You never know who might be reading. Here's censorship at it's best (lol!). I just wanted to say this: Give yourself the opportunity to get to know people before you judge them. It's usually worth it. I have a lot of people to thank this week. It's sometimes worth it to post less often (hihi). So here it is, a big thanks to Kass, Rachel and Rachel (ok, that's not a lot... I just realized that I wrote like 3 entried in the comment box... hihi).Archives:
