In the meantime...
8/29/2006 04:24:00 PM

A change was needed. I put all my creative energy together - it wasn't easy this time - and created something quite nice. I was looking for a simple yet fresh layout. The real inspiration came when I put all the complicated techniques aside and decided to create a temporary layout. I didn't know I would end up with a new creation. To be honnest, the past layout was too depressing for my taste. This one is simple, which is key. I don't want my thoughts to be cluttered into one tiny box surrounded by blends and too many colours. I want to air out my thoughts, online and offline.

Let me know what you think.

Another change to come is the content of my posts. I want to post more reflections and less day-to-day events. I want a more substancial blog. However, I just had to post this update first. :)

The summer is coming to a close. I worked for a final week at camp, which was unexpected and at the same time amazing. I am glad I went back. I connected again with that side of me that loves to work with children, teach them things and make their day better. I hadn't felt like that the 3 other weeks I had worked during the summer.

University starts again in less than a week. I am starting my formation à l'enseignement (teachers college) on September 5th. I am excited and a little nervous. Things will be different this year. It will be a nice change from the last 4 years I spent working on my undergraduate degrees. It will be more work, but it will be directly related to my future career, which is more motivating.

Currently listenning to "In the meantime" by The Dirtmitts.

Thanks Rachel, Kass and Jazzy.

Hammock

Good long weekend.
I needed this.
Get away.

I spent half the weekend at my grandparents' cottage, the one they bought when I was 3 years old. A lot of good memories happenned there. I hadn't been there during the summer in a while, I really enjoyed it. I also enjoyed spending time with my grandparents, and introducing them to my guy (he made a good impression). My parents were also there. Unfortunately, my sister had other engagements. The second half was spent at my boyfriend's house. My most memorable moment of the weekend was the half hour we spent lying in the hammock, looking at the trees above us. Very inspiring and amazing. Of course, I also liked the petal boat rides, the kayak, the bonfire, the food, the tiny fireworks and the swimming.

T and C for time and change

Sometimes things change without us noticing. Take me for example:

I wanted to prove to myself that I was independent.
I went all the way to England to realize that I already was.

I wanted to prove to myself that I didn't automatically need others to be happy.
I said goodbye to those I love to realize that it's with them I want to be.

I wanted some time to myself to do nothing.
I had it, and now want something fun to do.

They say the more things change, the more they stay the same. But that's not always the case. I believe that experience changes us, time changes us. That trip changed me. Or rather, it made me realize how much I had changed.

I had my time to do nothing (which I'm not very good at). I managed to re-watch all the episodes of Instant Star online, reorganize my room, get rid of some old books, did some much-needed reorganization of my GG website... and the list goes on.

When I don't accomplish anything, I feel somewhat useless and like I'm wasting my time. Today, for example.

Thanks Jazzy and Kass for the comments. I'm starting the work ont he website next week Jazzy, I'll let you know how it works out. Mon entrée à la Faculté d'éducation approche et oui j'ai hâte Kass.
